Are we Premier League title favourites?

Well, every time I look up Man City news on the internet, people seem to think we are the title favourites. What do you think? I get we still have Pep Quardiola as our manager and big things are still expected of him, even more so after his first ever season as a manager with no trophies but putting us as the favourites? Really?

I was messing around this week trying to figure out my outright bets for the season. There are plenty of bonus codes here which you can use to get good offers on City to be champions. But the bookies are clever with these offers. I was just a bit unsure as to whether I was actually confident that we’ll challenge this time.

Then I looked at it individually, player by player and actually realised why not? Pep has done what he needed to do to make us contenders.

We have world class players in every position now. Starting at the back with Ederson, the most expensive goalkeeper in history, some may argue it’s still Buffon, but that is all down to pounds and euros. Obviously the price doesn’t always guarantee quality, just look at Bravo last season but from what I’ve seen of Ederson at Benfica I’m very confident. I’ve convinced myself our skipper Vincent is now back after all his injuries and with his defending, organisation and not forgetting goal scoring ability he’s key to have back. Stones will learn so much more from him. New signings Walker and Mendy with their pace as full backs are perfect for playing in Pep’s style. Not forgetting Danilo as well.

On to midfield and with another Silva (Bernado) coming in to play with David and of course our main assist man De Bruyne we should be creating so many more opportunities. Sane is just going to get better and better and I think he may well be our best player this season, his pace and finishing ability along with Sterling can scare defenses. Gündogan is the forgotten man after his awful injury last season but he will provide so much when he is back to the best we know he can be. Then there is Yaya and Fernandinho.

I’m sad to see Iheanacho leave but good luck to me, the lad now needs to be playing regularly. And whilst we still have Agüero along with Jesus and all those fast attacking midfielders as mentioned he was not going to play much. Agüero had a bad season last season according to some, that didn’t stop him having his most prolific goal scoring season for us though did it. As for Jesus, this kid still has so much more to offer and when he did play last year he always looked like scoring and normally did. Obviously how much these two will play together as a partnership we’ll have to wait and see, either way we have pace, assists and goals across the whole team.

Hah, I might have been converted to believing we are now favourites after looking at it like that. I’m sure the other teams will have something to say, but Wenger is still at Arsenal and Spurs are playing their home games at Wembley so that brings them both issues. United are trying to get a squad together but they are nowhere near as good us individually. Liverpool with their new signings are looking good and I do like what Klopp is doing there. As for Chelsea, I’m not so sure this year, they’ll be up there but nowhere near as strong as last season. Anyway, not long now, bring on Brighton away!!
