West Ham 1 v City 17 at London Stadium

It came as no surprise that the genius that is David Silva scored against West Ham at the weekend, his record of scoring goals against them is excellent. As is the whole teams record at the moment, which is why I was delighted to find that the match was being shown live on Sky Sports in my region. I wouldn’t have wanted to miss this performance!

This time the scoring started with good running from Kyle Walker down the right, he found Sterling who looked up to see who was making a run. His cross got a deflection but Silva still reacted quicker than any of West Ham’s back four and goalkeeper to tap it in after just eleven minutes.

Only eight minutes later it would be Sterling that got the chance to tap from close range this time as he put Sane’s cross from the left into the back of the net. Moments later West Ham had a chance of their own as they tried to get back into the game but Ederson saved well from Antonio well struck shot.

Then the moment of the match, if not the day for me. More great work from Sterling as he volleyed a super Fernandinho pass to him back across goal to Sane. The German controlled brilliantly, went to shoot and fooled both Balbuena and Fabianski in goal as he sent them both the wrong way. Sane then just turned inside and rolled the ball into the empty net, a moment of sheer class and 3-0 at half-time.

Antonio and Arnautovic were West Ham’s main threat in the second-half with a couple of chances but the game was all but done and dusted as they came at us. However, West Ham didn’t take the chances that they had, which Guardiola was obviously relieved about afterwards as he was not happy with some of our sloppy defending in the second-half.

Then in injury time, we got another chance and although Jesus was probably just offside, he carried on and crossed to the back post form Sane to once again control and smash home to make it four. Which means that in our last four visits to the London stadium we’ve scored four or more, having won 5-0 (FA Cup) and then 4-0, 4-1 and now 4-0 again in the league. West Ham 1 vs City 17 at London Stadium.

It’s simple football we play but we make it look so easy and I’m absolutely loving watching us at the moment, it is just a joy.
