Manchester City have taken the lead in the race for Juventus star Paul Pogba if reports from the UK are to be believed
This summer is proving to be a bit of a toughie for Manuel Pellegrini and Manchester City as we still have no concrete news coming out of the Etihad Stadium as far as transfers are concerned. Like always, City are being continually linked to some of the biggest names in world football, but unlike other occasions, definite progress in terms of new signings seem to be very limited. The Raheem Sterling saga is still ongoing and there is nothing to suggest that we may be anywhere close to a conclusion as far as that deal is concerned. As talks for the Liverpool winger have cooled, a new link has opened up in the meanwhile, and honestly this is the deal that I am more excited about.
If reports from British newspapers are to be believed, then Manchester City are currently in pole position in the race for Paul Pogba. The young French hotshot would represent a major coup and not just because he is a former United man who could be playing for their cross town rivals. Pogba is currently, at least in my opinion, the hottest young footballer on the planet. In terms of playing style, he is very close to Yaya Toure as both these individuals have the ability to perform as the engine room of the team.

Raheem Sterling still remains to be a target for City even though reports regarding the player have cooled
Tireless running, strong tackles and an eye for goal are what you can expect from the Juventus midfielder who has caught the eye of every single club across Europe after yet another successful season in Italy. The Old Lady are believed to be holding out for a 60 million transfer fee and it’s not at all surprising to see why. He gets around 10 goals a season despite his position in the middle of the park and at 22, he could just turn out to be a fantastic asset in which to invest in. Manchester City are currently believed to have beaten off United, Real Madrid and Barcelona, all of whom are in the hunt for the three time Serie A winner.

Manuel Pellegrini is trying to assemble probably one of the finest squads in the footballing world this transfer window
City are on the hunt for a number of midfielders this season and Pogba appears to hold the position of desirable number one, quickly followed by Raheem Sterling. An outlay of at least 100 million pounds would be required to sign both these hugely talented young footballers who would not only act as additions to take the club forward now, but would represent a huge potential for growth over the coming years.
In fact, it’s becoming too much for me to imagine what it would feel like having both of these players strutting their stuff for us. The 2014 Golden Boy award winner playing alongside the lad who won the trophy just the year before him is going to be an unprecedented victory for the blue half of Manchester. When you add players like Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Yaya Toure into the mix, you get an equation that will surely blow your mind, and right now, every City fan will be hoping that this little dream of ours, comes true.
