With Euro 2016 about to start, City have several players in action with their countries. But the tournament could also provide an insight into some potential new purchases, as Guardiola looks to revamp his squad ahead of next season. Seriously Football have put together a short video guide which highlights some players who will be at Euro 2016 and are potential transfer targets for City this summer.
It’s easy to scoff at some of these names. Traditionally, you might think the likes of Busquets and Kroos would not come to City. But let’s not forget that Pep really is a big deal, and will change the whole dynamic of our dealings in the transfer market. He commands a lot of loyalty from his players and it’s not impossible that some would come just to play for him again.
We’ll be seeing plenty of Kroos, Busquets and Lukaku as their nations are all among the bookies favourites to win Euro 2016. In fact there are plenty of bookies who think that punters will be backing those teams heavily, and sites like www.latestbettingoffers.com are showing plenty of special offers on these teams. That means for us, we should have plenty of chance at the Euros to check out how these guys perform, and so will Pep.
Personally I would not expect to see all of these names at City, as I don’t actually think we need that many new signings. But two or three new faces would certainly refresh the squad, and midfield, full back and a new striker would certainly be the areas that would need to be strengthened. Pep will have his own ideas of course, but don’t be surprised if he’s joined by at least one player who he’s managed before.
