After the disappointing season that Manchester City had to endure last time, the onus was on them to turn their fortunes around as quickly as possible. The one and only thing that we needed from this current season was success. Proper, title-winning success that would make us forget about the dismal campaign that we endured last season.

And to ensure that we got success, Manchester City Football Club needed a sensational summer, a summer that not only bolstered the squad, but one that also sent out a real signal of intent to the other big boys in the division. If you have not been living in a cave deep in the Sahara Desert, you will know that by now, City have been able to accomplish just what was needed from them.

City have already signed Raheem Sterling from Liverpool for a whopping 49 million pounds

Manuel Pellegrinis’s men signed young guns Patrick Roberts and Enes Unal along with Villa midfielder Fabian Delph. If these signings weren’t enough, they swooped to sign Liverpool superstar Raheem Sterling for almost 50 million pounds. Most of the big teams in the world of football would be content with the signing of one 50 million pound star. Even more than being content, the whopping majority of the largest clubs in the world would firstly exhaust their funds after making one signing of 50 million pounds. Manchester City though is not any other big club who find themselves limited by the constraint of money, and for a club who can boast such a massive transfer kitty, there is no way that they can be content with signing just the one superstar.

The true power of Manchester City Football Club was actually brought to light this transfer window after they managed to not only sign Roberts and Unal and Delph and Sterling, but after they also signed arguably the hottest defender in the world right now, Nicolas Otamendi. The Argentine international was being courted by some of the biggest clubs in Europe including City’s cross town rivals, Manchester United. But it was the blue half of Manchester who had enough on offer to lure the 27 year old to the Etihad.

City are also reported to be close to signing Kevin De Bruyne from VfL Wolsburg for a fee of close to 50 million pounds

If you were thinking signing Otamendi for a whopping 32 million pounds would be our last purchase of the summer, then you were as wrong as Jose Mourinho when he lost his head on his own colleagues. If reports from England are to be believed, then Manchester City have agreed terms with a certain Kevin De Bruyne. Personal terms have been agreed upon and all that remains to be sorted right now is a transfer fee.

It is believed that VfL Wolfsburg are holding out for a fee of at least 50 million pounds for the Belgian international and similarly, it is also believed that City will come forward and offer the amount that is required to purchase the player. So, before you go on to do anything else, give yourself a moment and take a deep breath to weigh up all that you’ve read in this article and all that Manchester City have done this summer because you, are lucky enough to witness one of the biggest power shifts in the world of football.
